The Foggy Dew Banjo Tab
This song is for the 4 string tenor banjo plus mandolin.[ first version in GDAE Tuning, last tab in CGDA Tuning ] When learning how to play this song remember that there are only two lines of the song to learn. The first, second and forth lines of the tune use the same notes. The tune is in the key of G Major and it's very suitable for banjo rather than mandolin. Luke Kelly and The Dubliners sang it at a much slower pace that The Wolfe Tones, so perhaps if your only learning how to play it you could do it at the same pace as Luke Kelly. There are plenty of ''filler'' notes in this song that should be played. For example the word ''City'' uses 4 notes. I have added an easy to play banjo letter note version of the song for quick learning.
The version of the tab below is in the tuning of CGDA which is also useful for playing the mandola or cello.
