It was brought to life by the English rock group The Animals way back in the 60's. The version of the 4 string tenor banjo sheet music notes here are in C Major. There's an odd G # Sharp note that's generally not seen in folk songs. Regardless of what key I tried to put this song in there was always a bogie note somewhere.
