Recorded by Status Quo and by Hank Thompson. This version of the sheet music is in the key of G and fairly easy to play along to. In fact it's most likely the easiest song you'll ever play on banjo, and just for good measure I have included the handy banjo / mandolin music letter notes.[ same key as the sheet music ] It was first released by country singer Hank Thompson in the early 50's. I think, going by youtube, that Waylon Jennings had the greatest success with the song.
