The list of 80 mandolin / banjo songs here have been the most popular on this site over the past 18 months.
The data is supplied by Google Analytics and these songs in the order laid out have held
the top spot over the past year and a half.

It must be said that I only added the ''Traditional'' Irish tunes about 6 months, so that's 
why no trad. tunes made the top 80 in that time. But of the 50 traditional tunes on this site
John Ryan's Polka followed by The Lonesome Boatman have been the most popular.

As usual, it's the fast passed songs like The Rocky Road To Dublin that are still being chosen to play on the banjo, rather than mandolin, so no surprises there.

While there's songs featured on youtube by mandolin players who receive a million times more hits that this list, them songs aren't being learned and played by mandolin players. People just like watching and listening to their music.

People write to me asking why the full song isn't included. Take the song below for example ! It's the first verse of ''I'm A Rover Seldom Sober'' . The notes used in this first verse will be the same as the notes used in the other verses of the song, so there's no need to keep writing out the same notes over and over.

If a song uses different notes for the chorus, then I'll include them. This has been the norm used in songbooks for yonks, and it works.
